Getting your home ready to sell!

If you are getting your home ready to sell, it’s time for a closer look at what kind of condition your home is in. Take the time to look it over now, before your home sits on the market.

Deep Cleaning: The obvious thing you need to do is clean. If you have been in your home a few years, you need to clean out closets, clean up the clutter and pack up what is not needed. Dusting, scrubbing and polishing everything is important to sell your home.

Minor Repairs: Look at the walls: Are there a lot of nail holes in the wall when you remove your pictures? Fill those holes for a cleaner wall.

Do you need to repaint the rooms? Fresh paint isn’t expensive but it looks great in the eyes of a new buyer!

Do you need to repair the siding? Make sure the that the siding is not chipped or buckled from moisture, and looks clean.

Do you need to pressure wash the desk, siding or driveway? A clean driveway adds to your curb appeal!

Do your kitchen cabinets need a face-lift? Clean your cabinets, reface them or paint them. The kitchen is an important area for a new buyer.

Landscaping: Take a look at your yard. The front of the home may need fresh flowers, pinestraw or mulch.

Construction Tips

Licensed and Insured. The last thing you want is a remodeler to be working on your property, only to find out they don't have the proper insurance or aren't licensed to do the work, because if something goes wrong or someone is hurt at a work site, you could be held liable for the damages. Make sure that the remodeler you choose has ample worker's compensation, property damage, and personal liability coverage.

References. The best way to ascertain if the remodeler you choose is skilled and competent enough to do the job is to ask for and verify a list of references consisting of past customers that you can contact. Customers that get what they paid for and who are happy with the job your remodeler has done for them are usually only too happy to provide an endorsement on the remodeler's work. Choose me, and before long you'll be on our reference list!
